Just like our lives, our yoga teaching ebbs and flows... and every now and again we feel stuck. Often, all we need to get flowing again is a little inspiration. The Teacher Tune-Up Program is designed to reignite your passion and love of sharing yoga.

Who should take this training?
The Teacher Tune-Up Program is designed for vinyasa and power yoga style teachers who have been teaching to the public on a regular basis, newly trained teachers hoping to expand on their skills and those looking to start teaching again after taking a break from conducting public classes.

Pre-Requisites:

  • Successful completion of (at least) a 100 hour teacher training program
  • A consistent yoga practice
  • A desire to learn & share

Topics Covered & Program Overview:

Friday Night Session: Techniques Training/Practice: We will begin the program with a hot, sweaty & powerful Friday night yoga practice that will unite the group and set the tone for a transformative weekend.

Saturday Session One: Teaching Methodology/Assisting Workshop: It takes time and experience to accurately see and adjust your students bodies. We will start off Saturday’s session with an extensive assisting workshop that goes beyond the basics and allows participants to approach assisting safely, intuitively and creatively.

Saturday Session Two: Anatomy and Physiology/ The Art of Sequencing: Many yoga instructors start teaching yoga with an outline or sequence that they were given at there initial teacher training program which is anatomically sound and works in the body, but when they begin to adjust the sequence by adding and subtracting poses they run the risk of physically and/or energetically altering the outcome (and safety) of the class. We will spend the second part of our Saturday session looking at the four alinement groupings of standing postures and the most mindful and effective ways to put them together for a powerful and challenging yoga class.

Sunday Session: Practicum/ Practice Teaching: Sunday’s session will be dedicated to your teaching. Each participant will have a chance to teach to the entire group, receive in-the-moment feedback and then implement that feedback for immediate and transformative results.

The program is designed as a complete training experience and the sessions can not be purchased separately. Full attendance for the entire program is required for successful completion.

There is no application for this program, but everyone who registers must be able to show (if requested by South Hills Power Yoga) proof of successful completion of at least a 100 hour teacher training yoga program.
