In-Class Assisting

In-Class Individual Assisting with Darcy Lyle

In-Class Individual Assisting is a form of non-verbal private instruction that happens within the framework of a regularly scheduled class. In this transformative yoga session, the student takes the class taught by the regularly scheduled teacher, while a second teacher works with only that student, using the art of hands-on assisting to support their practice.  Hands-on assists can be corrective, dealing with alignment.  They can also provide physical support in a pose or deepen the sensation.  Often all of these elements happen together.  Individual assisting is a powerful tool that will change your understanding of the practice and your body!

Please Note: individual assisting is not recommended for students brand new to yoga; rather, it is ideal for students who are comfortable in an all-levels class and with receiving hands-on assists.

In-Class Individual Assists are $80 (which also covers the cost of the class) and must be prescheduled with Darcy Lyle either in-person at the studio or by emailing her directly at: (Please allow at least 48 hours for an email response.)

All ICIA participants will be asked to complete a health waiver at their first session and should plan to arrive at the studio at least 15 minutes before the class start time to meet with their assistant. Cancellations within 24 hours of a pre-scheduled ICIA appointment time will result in a $25 processing fee.

“Wow!  I just finished a class with Darcy personally assisting me the entire time (through the ICIA program) and I feel awesome!  I've been practicing yoga for years and have never gone so deeply into so many poses in one class!  I'm feeling a cool combination of being very relaxed and totally energized at the same time.  I highly recommend this to anyone who wants to take their practice to a new level.” ~Chris (SHPY Yoga Student)
