The Sutras on Parenting w/ Candace Lain-Fabus
Saturday, June 9
What parent hasn’t wished for a tried and true parenting handbook? Of course, this is impossible, as every child, parent, and family is unique. We can, however, look to the Yoga Sutras for some advice.
This two hour workshop will go through the Yamas (Laws of Life,) and Niyamas (Rules of Living) as they regard to parenthood, and our relationships within our families. We will begin with a brief centering practice, followed by journaling, discussion, and finally creating your own “parenting handbook,” or “vision board.” Please bring a journal (or paper), pen, and what you need to practice yoga.
This class is open to all level yogis, and every person that acts as a child caregiver (from parents, to teachers, to grandparents and beyond.)
BackBending w/ Maryellen Baverso
Friday, May 18
Experience the invigorating and rejuvenating practice of backbending. In this 90-minute workshop, we will approach backbending poses with healthy technique and anatomical awareness. Move through carefully sequenced poses to increase the mobility of the spine, buoyancy in the chest, and strengthening of the arms, legs, back, and shoulders. Explore targeted prep poses that support your body’s ability to move towards the advanced stages of backbending.
